Refine Your Photography Business With a Personal Mentor
Look, you have to start somewhere. Everyone I know that is successful in this field began with certain struggles. We all lacked organization or refinement in one area, or more, of our business.
The great news is, you can learn from those that have gone before you and avoid making a TON OF MISTAKES that will save you both time and money! Overcoming hurdles doesn’t have to take years!
I have been a professional wedding and portrait photographer for over 13 years now but building a successful business did not happen overnight. In fact, the first 3-5 years I spun in so many circles I was too dizzy to even notice what was missing!
I felt like I had to do it all by myself or like I couldn’t “afford” to hire outside help. The truth is, I would have SAVED THOUSANDS of dollars in mistakes if I had taken the leap to hire a mentor earlier. Investing in education and guidance has hands down been one of THE BEST decisions I made for my business.
In those first few years, I struggled the most with:
– Lighting
– Editing (that took FOREVER and looked over-processed. OMG those filters!)
– Pricing (I had no clue what to charge and I was missing out BIG TIME)
– Posing (Can we say awkward?!)
– Not being protected legally by having a solid contract (Ouch!)
– Confidence (Pre session jitters and I felt like I was guessing so much of the time!)
That’s not to say that I have it all figured out now, but the difference in my business years 6-12 versus those first few is astronomical. It feels like a different business entirely…and it kind of is!
What a personal photography mentor can do for you
Working with a mentor gives you the opportunity to bypass those years of trial and error that most photographers go through in their early years of business. With guidance, you can make a satisfying living that brings you joy and helps take care of the necessities and more in life.
This is exactly why I create personal mentor programs for aspiring photographers!
And because I know that everyone is on a different level and has different needs, I’ve made it super easy to pick the program that’s just right for you, or even build your own! I have the following mentorship programs available for photographers of all levels:
