A photograph is powerful enough to slow time, to bring you back to a moment that passed all too quickly. When I look at images of my own children as babies, I feel their pudgy little thighs resting against my ribs as I held them in my arms and the fluff of their bulky cloth diapers under their wobbly, but substantial, little bodies. Their soft, bouncy cheeks are beneath my liberal kisses once more and I know, for another moment, their pure, unabashed joy as they ran through that field. And the sun rays that dressed their shoulders? It warms me once again.

The sooner the better - especially if you're hoping for a Spring or Fall Date. Weekends tend to fill months in advance, so the sooner you reach out to us, the more likely you are to get your optimal date!

To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit. If something comes up and you need to change your date, just let us know!

Wear something you LOVE, that you feel like yourself in and that fits you properly. If you've thrown all your clothes onto the bed, tried them on multiple times (with and without accessories) and still don't know what to wear - do not fret, I'm happy to help.

Don't worry - almost everyone feels uncomfortable and awkward in front of the camera at first. After ten years of taking photographs, I still feel a little goofy on the other side of the lens.

Throughout the session you'll be thoughtfully posed and prompted to keep things looking and feeling natural (and fun!). And don't worry about your kids, movement brings images life! I have three of my own and am fully prepared to chase the busiest of little ones.

No one wants to look like a hot mess in their photos so if inclement weather is unavoidable and an indoor backup unavailable, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. When we schedule your initial portrait session date, we'll go ahead and discuss a rain date. It can be fun to get wet + a light sprinkle can make for some special photos...just sayin'!

Within a few weeks of your session, you'll receive a link to a digital gallery that will allow you to download high resolution images.

You'll be able to order prints and albums directly through the gallery store. It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3. Nothing will delight you more than to see your images in print where you and your family can enjoy them daily!

One of my all time favorite places to shoot is at the Park at the Capitol Building in Baton Rouge. It is a rare thing to find a well kept, landscaped area that is free from crowds on the weekends. The light can not be beat and the park is just steps away from the Mississippi River, another beautiful location for shots. Sydney and Steven were a delight to photograph - in love, and quick to smile with one another.

Fall Family Photos

The morning started off very cloudy and damp. I don't ever mind shooting in overcast weather because the lighting is so smooth. It was still a pleasant surprise when the sun decided to peak out a bit. The damp ground really lit up and all the trees were wonderfully dark from the light rain. I love this little family so much! I have been working with them since Stacy and Quad were married.
