Here it is, the short list of what I’m loving lately. I’m sharing this in hopes that it blesses you in some way. Simple as that!
- Summer Adventure: I’m in charge of the next community outing for our gym (CrossFit Zachary) and we’ll be going tubing along the Bogue Chitto River. There are several companies that run river floats and they all seem great. I’ll let you know how it goes! A few of us even booked campsites to stay the whole weekend.
- In our Kitchen: These homemade tortillas have become a staple for taco night in our house. They do add prep time to our meal, but they are so worth it and otherwise very easy to make. Maybe one day, I’ll even be able to roll them out into nice little round shapes. lol
- In our Garden: We lost every single satsuma we planted over the winter. I diligently covered and protected them, but they couldn’t handle an unusual snowfall. We recently replanted the area with two pear trees from Clegg’s Nursery. That area of our property is our attempt at a home orchard. We now have blackberries, figs, plums, and pears with a plan to add peaches. Nothing produces yet, so we plant in faith of future harvests.
- At our Table: On a recent trip to Costco I came across a set of beautiful blue hobnail drinking glasses. It was a splurge purchase but I absolutely love bringing beauty into our everyday life and we need to drink water everyday, so these glasses bring me great pleasure. Here is an amazon link to a few colors and sizes. I’m hoping to get juice glass sizes next when I can decide on a color. I love the amber and soft pinks!
- On the Internet: I don’t recommend scrolling instagram, but I find absolutely no flaw in this precious account. This artist is truly amazing and her videos are heart warming and full of charm.
- Reading: I’m actually looking for recommendations from YOU! What are your favorite summer reads, non-fiction and historical fiction have been my favorites lately.
