The Gab – May 2025

Welcome to my first, of hopefully many, monthly newsletter posts.

What to expect each month.

Every month I’ll be sharing a short list of what I’m loving lately in hopes that it blesses you in some way. It really is as simple as that.

Why?

Since our relationship thus far is through a screen, I’m doing my best to let you in by sharing these little tid bits about what I find useful and / or beautiful.

I hope you know how welcome you are here!

Ok, here it is. The short list of what I’m loving lately and a few details to go along with it.

  • In Our Home: POLLEN. DOG HAIR. SO MUCH of it. It’s Springtime and everything is blooming and our shepherds are shedding literal clumps of fur. I’ve never met a vacuum that could handle the spring cleaning in our home quite like our Rainbow. It costs almost as much as braces (mama’s with tweens + teens, you know!) but it has been worth it. My parents are still using their rainbow vacuum cleaner that they had when I was a kid – that thing is nearly 35 years old and works the same as it did on the first day.
  • Bible Study: This is my second year attending Community Bible Study in Zachary, LA. It’s a women’s study that is not affiliated with a particular church, and open to women of all ages. They even have a children’s ministry so you can bring your kids along as well. The children have a separate class, but study the same lessons as the adults. Registration is open for next year and we will be studying the Book of Psalms. This is a no pressure invitation if you’re local to the area and looking for a great study to join. If you have questions, reach out to me – I’m happy to answer them!
  • In The Kitchen: One of my best friends recently made this breakfast casserole for our Bible Study brunch and I had to swipe the recipe from her. It is SO good and the whole family loves it.
  • In the Gym: These shorts are thin, but not too thin, reasonably priced, and I love how lightweight they are for the stiffling heat of our southern summers. I love a good pair of compression shorts for the gym, but come June-September they make me feel like I can hardly breathe. I recommend the darker colors if you don’t want visible sweat. The 5 inch length is better for running and biking days, though I love the 3 inch for lifting, lunging, and gymnastics days.

Is there something you’re loving lately that you’d like to share with me? I’d love to hear about it. Just shoot a note to info@gabbychapin.com!
