5 Ideas for Fall Family Photos

15

Aug

If you’re looking for ideas for your fall family photos, look no further. Here are my top 5 favorite locations / ideas for your photo session.

Warm, earthy tones, crunchy leaves, campfire smell, family friendly hikes, and mini sessions just to scratch the surface of what South Louisiana has to offer in the Autumn months as the weather cools.

  1. Our Property in Bluff Creek: with ample space to roam and beautiful trees that boast all those warm tones we love about the fall season, you won’t be disappointed with the results! Located just North of Baton Rouge and East of Clinton, LA. After your session you can head over to the Green Door for some coffee + gelato!
  2. Your Backyard: your own backyard garden likely provides all the beauty and fun we need to photograph beautiful memories. It’s a great way to document all the hard work you’ve poured into this season and to spend quality time with the family. Fall gardens are often burstin with blooms and vegetables that just beg to be in your background.
  3. Campfire Session: Very little stirs our emotions like the smell and sound of the first campfire on a cool evening. Load the family up for some unforgettable fun. We’ll roast marshmallows for s’mores and let the kids run free. These sessions can take place on my property or yours.
  4. Take a Fall Hike: As an outdoor enthusiast I know several family friendly hiking trails within reasonable driving distance, that also make for beautiful backdrops for your photo session.
  5. Book a Mini Session: Mini sessions are popular for many reasons. They are short and sweet, which makes most everyone happy, and they’re offered at a lower price point…which is always helpful especially before the holidays. Because of the convenience and affordability, they do tend to sell out so I recommend booking in advance! This year I’m offering two days of mini sessions on our property in Bluff Creek.

Ramblings:

I’ve been on a 40 day fast from social media + tv…all leading up to my 40th bday at the end of this month. I’ve had some extra time on my hands to enjoy other things because of this and I wanted to share some with you just for fun!

Here’s what I’ve been loving lately:

  1. Favorite Summer Beverage: Iced hazelnut lattes from Coffee Time.
  2. Reading: We’ve Got Issues by Dr. Phil
  3. Podcasts: 1000 Hours Outside + Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett
  4. Education: My husband and I recently signed up for Jordan B. Peterson’s new educational platform, Peterson Academy, and we are SO eager to begin the courses.
  5. Day trip: Land O Pines Campground. I recently took the kids here and purchased day passes that gave us access to the river, pool, and waterslide. We loved the soft serve ice cream at the shop too. Fun was had by all!

Have a blessed day!
