I am so excited to edit the rest of these photos! Jennifer + Derek chose to have their first look and family portraits taken at Fairview State Park in Madisonville. The light was just perfect and the swamp trail boardwalk is a complete dream for a nature nerd like myself! Congratulations Jen + Derek, I hope you’re both still on cloud nine!
There’s nothing quite like the satisfaction of a well and simply styled engagement session with absolutely perfect light. I do hope to shoot at the Capitol Building in Baton Rouge again sometime. It’s a great location with very few other people to work around and lovely little garden areas.
Somehow, it feels like longer, but Elizabeth + Raymond are approaching their one year anniversary. After some time passes and I browse through a gallery from “the past” I find that different images stand out than did immediately following the wedding and it feels a bit like finding buried treasure. There were so many pretty little details naturally surrounding us from Jackson Square for the ceremony, to the French Quarter second line, and then the laid back reception uptown at Magnolia Mansion. I hope these two love birds are doing well! Enjoy. :-)
This rarely happens but I am a bit speechless over last night’s wedding. St. Mary’s Chapel in Natchez, MS isn’t out of a book of fairytales, it’s REAL LIFE. I just…wow. This 1800s woodlands surrounded gem has stolen my heart. Who’s going to be next to say their vows here? I’m in!
