Jonathan + Ashton // Sunset Proposal

Nothing beats the anticipation of a proposal! Jonathan and Ashton are blessed beyond measure by each other and I am so grateful to have been their chosen photographer for this special event in their lives. It was a gorgeous day along the levee and the sunset over the Mississippi River gave us picture perfect light!

Initially Jonathan had planned a picnic proposal along the grassy area of the levee but about an hour before "go time" I got a slightly panicked text that said "She wore pointy heels, move to plan B". This message made me giggle and his flexibility proved to be a promising quality. The whole thing went off without a hitch.

Heather + Scott // New Orleans Engagement Photos

Clients that happily begin their engagement sessions at a coffee shop for a quick meet and greet always make my heart sing. Heather and Scott were no exception to this! We began by saying our hellos at CC's in the French Quarter and from there (iced coffee in hand!) we meandered at a relaxed pace around the colorful streets of this New Orleans neighborhood. I really enjoyed getting to know this NY couple in person. Heather and I had spoken on the phone a couple weeks prior to the shoot and it felt like chatting with an old / new friend! We immediately hit it off and found ourselves laughing and expressing common interests. I can't wait to watch them marry each other next year!

Katie + Clarence

Laid back + happy: check. Stylish but approachable: check. Giant Disney fans: check! Katie + Clarence came to me for the Engagement Photos just a few weeks ago and I am so glad. We had a string of rainstorms the days leading up to their shoot so Audubon Park was a soppy wet mess. They weren't afraid of a little mud even in their Sunday dress. It was a beautiful morning spent together laughing, talking about their relationship, and enjoying the soft humidity of August in New Orleans.

Arusyak + Edward // New Orleans Board of Trade

It has been raining cats and dogs here for a few days but I'm still doing a little celebrating as this was my last session before a little early summer break. I can't wait to catch up on editing, blogging, and a few other work related things. I'm FINALLY back in my studio after sharing it with my Mom-in-Love for a living space while she waited for her apartment to be finished. I hardly know what to do with the space now that I have it. I'll be sure to share little snippets here and there as it starts to come together...or not. Life has a funny way of making the important things either happen faster than you intend or much, much slower than planned. Anywho, onto the photo goodies!

Every time I am connected with a couple through Weddings by Lulu I find myself surrounded by lots of laughs and of course, great style. Arusyak and Edward were no exception as we found ourselves cracking up at the New Orleans Board of Trade for most of the shoot. I think Arusyak giggled through 90% of the photo shoot and I absolutely love how much that translated to joyful imagery! Enjoy this little sneak peek and Happy almost Friday!
