Jennifer and Adam’s wedding day gave me all the classic, wholesome feels. Their ceremony was at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Mandeville and their reception at the Lakehouse was just steps away. I can still feel the cool breeze embracing the night from Lake Pontchartrain. For a few hours I felt like I was vacationing on the coast of some calm body of water. Writing this I smell salty sea air, though I’m pretty sure Lake Pontchartrain has a scent unique unto itself.
Jennifer made a stunning bride and I continue to admire how gracefully she went about a day that can really leave a few folks feeling less than…calm. Her and Adam both were emotionally present with their friends and family throughout the celebrations. In a day and age when it’s not uncommon to see even the bride and groom posting on instagram, it felt like a beautiful respite from the day to day grind we all feel from social media and the internet in general. This presence of mind and commitment to the moment will likely serve their marriage very well. Adam gave a heartfelt toast at the rehearsal dinner that still sits with me in spirit. He spoke of a deep appreciation and admiration for his support network of friends, family, and his soon to be wife. I hope these two are doing well and I am so grateful I was able to participate in their wedding day.
Oh yeah, this wedding was also recently featured on Southern Bride!!! I was completely surprised when Jennifer told me that she had done the work of submitting and the photos had been accepted.
